SUMMARY:Neurodivergence in the Workplace: Navigating Challenges\, Disclosure\, and Accommodations for Success
DESCRIPTION:Neurodivergent individuals bring unique perspectives and talents to the workplace\, yet they often face significant challenges due to their neurological differences. While some neurodivergent employees can manage these challenges through personal strategies and tools\, others may require formal accommodations. This presentation will examine common obstacles faced by neurodivergent employees and offer practical suggestions for both personal compensatory strategies and formal accommodations. Additionally\, we will explore the topic of disclosing neurodivergence in the workplace\, including the potential benefits and drawbacks of doing so at various stages. A list of resources on neurodivergence\, disclosure\, and accommodations will also be provided. \n\n\n\nSPEAKER BIO \n\n\n\nViktoriya is dedicated to helping neurodivergent individuals thrive at work by guiding them to understand their unique talents\, challenges\, and needs\, while equipping them with strategies for success. Through her private practice\, she helps clients identify the right career paths\, work environments\, and responsibilities that align with their strengths. Viktoriya also supports them in navigating workplace dynamics and advocating for their needs. With nearly 20 years of experience\, Viktoriya is expanding her impact by partnering with other professionals and businesses to educate them about neurodivergence and inclusive practices at work. \n\n\n\nViktoriya holds a Master’s degree in Vocational Evaluation and is an internationally certified vocational evaluator (ICVE)\, a certified master of career services (CMCS)\, and a global career development facilitator (GCDF). Since 2012\, she has contracted with MD Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS)\, providing vocational evaluations and career exploration services to individuals with disabilities. DESCRIPTION:We are inviting employers and neurodivergent job seekers to join us Wednesday\, November 20th from 10a.m.-12p.m. at Drexel University for our 4th Connect and Learn Meet-up. This event will focus on connecting job seekers with employers who have a passion for neuroinclusion. \n\n\n\nAs a note: This is not a hiring event – you do not need to have openings in your organization. You do not need to be in charge of hiring to participate. You can be from any organization in any industry. \n\n\n\nHow the event will work: \n\n\n\nJob seekers will be stationed at individual tables\, where employers will approach and get to know the job seeker. SUMMARY:Best Practices to Support Neurodiversity in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Hiring neurodiverse talent can be very advantageous for employers.
