SUMMARY:Customized Employment Certification
DESCRIPTION:On February 12\, the Arc of Pennsylvania will begin a 10 day Customized Employment certification course designed to train providers in Customized Employment\, a process designed to reach a point of employment where both the needs of the employee and the needs of the employer are met with a particular focus on the needs of individuals with disabilities. Prior to the launch of the course\, attendees will need to find a learning partner – an individual with a disability with a desire to participate in the Customized Employment process – who they will practice what they learned in the course on. Each session will take place from 9 am to 4 pm EST. Registration for the course is $200 per person to audit the course and $650 per person to take the certification course. SUMMARY:Spring 2024 Symposium on Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion
DESCRIPTION:On April 8\, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC) will be holding its first symposium on Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion. A variety of topics will be covered\, but there will be some discussion on how to support individuals with disabilities in the workplace. The event will go from 10 am to 3 pm and will be held at the Sonesta Rittenhouse Square. For individuals who live outside of Philadelphia\, the room rate is $189/night and you must make your reservation by March 18 (go to https://book.passkey.com/event/50726650/owner/7246/home to make your reservation). Aside from that\, registration for students is $70; for everyone else\, registration is $125. In addition\, there will be a discussion on developing ways to support neurodivergent employees at different stages of the employee lifecycle. \n\n\n\nWe will also be holding a networking and hiring event at this Quarterly Meeting as well\, so interested job seekers should bring their resumés and be ready to network.

SUMMARY:Eagles Autism Foundation Adult Fitness and Drum Clinic
DESCRIPTION:On April 30\, the Eagles Autism Foundation will hold their Adult Fitness and Drum Clinic from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the Lincoln Financial Field. This clinic session is for individuals aged 15 and older. Participants will first participate in a fitness program led by the Eagles Cheerleaders and then participate in a drum lesson held by the Eagles Drumline. Participants will also be able to attend a meet and greet with both groups.
